You begin with core biomedical sciences such as anatomy, physiology, and biochemistry — the scientific basis of medical practice.
  • Laboratory-based learning
Practical laboratory sessions help you connect scientific knowledge with real medical understanding.
  • Clear learning goals and competencies
Each stage of the program includes defined objectives, required tasks, and performance standards.
  • Early clinical exposure
From the early years, students enter real clinical environments at AHEPA University Hospital (on campus) and six affiliated teaching hospitals, under faculty supervision.
  • Gradual clinical responsibility
Training progresses from observation to active participation in patient care as your competence develops.
  • Clinical rotations across medical disciplines
Students rotate through multiple departments in university hospitals and affiliated public healthcare institutions.
  • Progress based on competence
Students move to the next stage only after successfully completing the required academic, laboratory, and clinical training.

A medical degree
with global reach

The MD degree is delivered within the framework of the European Higher Education Area (EHEA) and follows established European standards in medical education. It is an integrated long-cycle medical degree, internationally recognised as a primary medical qualification. After graduation, degree holders can pursue medical licensure and professional practice in almost every country in the world, depending on the regulatory requirements of each country. The degree also provides access to postgraduate medical training and further specialization pathways internationally. It builds on the long academic tradition of the Aristotle University School of Medicine, whose graduates practice medicine and contribute to healthcare systems across the world.
